About Lovin Spoonfuls Established in 2010, Lovin’ Spoonfuls is a nonprofit food rescue headquartered in Boston and dedicated to facilitating the rescue and distribution of healthy, fresh food that would otherwise be discarded. Spoonfuls picks up wholesome, perishable food from grocery stores, produce wholesalers, farms, and farmers' markets, and distributes it, same day, to more than 195 community nonprofits that feed people experiencing food insecurity. Spoonfuls operates across 10 routes in Greater Boston, MetroWest, Worcester County, and Hampden County. Each week, the organization rescues roughly 80,000 pounds of food, which serves over 55,000 people. Lovin’ Spoonfuls is proud to be an official Partner of John Hancock in the Marathon Non-Profit Program. Through this program, John Hancock helps foster healthier, more equitable communities by annually donating 1,000 Boston Marathon® entries to select non-profit organizations who use them for fundraising. Last year, John Hancock Non-Profit Runners raised $11.7M for their causes.
