Do you have ideas on how local journalism can help the Wichita community understand civic engagement? We want to hear from you!
Who: The Wichita Beacon and The League of Women Voters are partnering on a community listening session on Thursday, April 27 from 6-8 p.m.
The Wichita Beacon’s Community Engagement Bureau is a journalism lab reimagining local media. We do this by equipping people with skills and resources, engaging in critical public conversations and producing information that directly addresses people’s needs.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy. We never support or oppose any political party or candidate. The League of Women Voters has two separate and distinct roles, Voter Service/Citizen Education and Action/Advocacy.
What: This will be a friendly and welcoming space to engage with community members, share ways to be engaged and talk about your ideas for seeing civic engagement grow in Wichita. Refreshments provided.
Where: Evergreen Library this is located at 2601 N Arkansas, Wichita, KS 67204.
Parking: The library parking lot is free and open to the public.
We hope to see you there!
