Description

Set in the high desert with its historic architecture clinging to the hillsides, public art, and unique geology, Bisbee is undisputedly one of the most photogenic communities in Arizona. During the one-hour Photography Walking Tour of Bisbee, Boyd Nicholl will guide you to locations where you will be able to capture unique features and views of the city using your cell phone or tablet. You will be sure to capture pictures of Bisbee that you will be eager to share with your friends and family. Boyd Nicholl, a long-time Bisbee resident, has been creating photographs for more than fifty years. Many years were spent with film, tripods, and various cameras pursuing images mostly from the grand landscapes of Arizona. Then hours in the darkroom printing until the final acceptance of an image. Five years ago, he was given a smartphone and the whole order of his work changed dramatically. Freed from the burden of bulky equipment has led to an explosion of wonderful bold colorful photographs, where anything might be the subject matter. Direct simple seeing! Where to Meet The Photography Walking Tour meets on the steps of the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum located at 5 Copper Queen Plaza in historic Bisbee. Please arrive at 3:25 pm to ensure the program will start promptly at 3:30 pm. What to Expect The Photography Walking Tour will last approximately one hour and will take you around various sites in Bisbee’s historic district. Participants must bring their own cell phone or tablet and have a basic knowledge of how to use their device for photography. You should be prepared to walk about one mile over uneven ground at a moderate pace, possibly uphill and/or upstairs. Please wear sturdy walking shoes and come prepared with water, sunscreen, and a hat. Photo by Boyd Nicholl
