Picnic Day is one of UC Davis' most revered traditions and serves as the university's Open House for prospective and current students, families, alumni, staff, faculty and the greater Davis regional communities. What better way to celebrate than spend some time at Davis' latest family fun attraction and it's hottest new entertainment venue! Encounters UFO Xperience will be open all day for fun, education, entertainment, music, vendors, surprises and fundraising for a good cause. The exhibit will be open all day featuring our new 3D Holovisn display and up to date UFO information. Picnic with the aliens and selfies with your favorites like E.T. and our flying saucer. Interesting information on agriculture in space. Can you grow food in zero gravity? Advances and research being made to grow food on Mars for explorers. What do aliens eat? Steve Oerding, an amazing local artist and illustrator who created the Ranger Ralph line of comic books will be attending this event, offering some cartooning lessons to the young and the young at heart. Vendors will entice you with alien and UFO themed T Shirts and souvenirs. Classic picnic foods with a space theme! Hands on activities, video events and more! Live music and DJs will be getting you and the aliens dancing. A percentage of all ticket sales goes to Dr. Andy Jones for the Jukie Jones Duren Endowment of the Smith-Lemli-Opitz Foundation which funds research into the rare syndrome that affects his son Jukie. https://picnicday.sf.ucdavis.edu
