Newark Shoreline Clean-Up

Other

2 Marshlands Rd,Fremont CA 94555

15 April, 2023

Description

Newark’s unique shoreline location and historical ecology make it a regional priority for action. Sea level rise and flooding are serious threats to local residents and industries, but we don’t have to sit and wait for disaster—we can take action through local planning and policy development, implementation of sustainable infrastructure solutions, and, most of all, making sure the city knows that Newark residents want to see change! We’ll provide the gloves, trash bags, coffee and treats. Just pack your willingness to clean up the shoreline and ideas for change! We will start with a shoreline cleanup of the Don Edwards Shoreline area then wrap up with an informal discussion to hear from you! All are welcome to join for some or all of these activities. Greenbelt Alliance is celebrating 65 years of protecting people and nature. Help us mark this major milestone by coming out to help clean our precious shorelines! When: Saturday, April 15th, from 9 to 11.a.m (9 - 11a.m. cleanup; 11-11:30a.m. chat and debrief) Meeting Location: Don Edwards Shoreline parking lot (off Marshland road). 9605 Thornton Ave, Fremont, CA 94555 (pin) This event is in partnership with Citizens Committee to Complete the Refuge.
