Description

At HenHouse, we view any milestone as a chance to remember the past, and look to the future! That is why this year, to celebrate our 11th Anniversary we are gassing up our Short Range Delorean and turning the stretch of 101 between our Palace Of Barrels in Northern Petaluma and our Brewery Tasting Room in Southern Santa Rosa into a portal that will transport travelers between our past and our future! For the duration of our anniversary celebration at The Palace, visitors will be guided by our liquid librarians through offerings that will include by-the-glass pours of our entire line-up of bottle-conditioned and barrel-aged beers. On Sunday 3/26 we will take this to the next level with an intimate guided tasting experience hosted by our Brand Manager, Sayre Piotrkowski, and our Palace Of Barrels manager, Michael Fajardo set amongst our barrels and featuring some of the rarest and most unique beers we've ever produced. Two of the beers we will feature represent two of the four special releases associated with our 11th Anniversary Celebration, and are not yet available for the public: 2023 Vintage Saison, Bottle-Condition Farmhouse AleThe Greatest Generator, Rye-Whisky Barrel-Aged DoppelbockTHE FULL LINE-UP TO BE FEATURED ON 3/26: 2023 Vintage Saison, Bottle-Condition Farmhouse Ale10th Anniversary Golden Ale, Belgian-style Strong Golden Ale10th Anniversary Oyster Stout, Oak-Aged Export Stout with Hog Island OystersThe Greatest Generator, Rye-Whisky Barrel-Aged DoppelbockWitchcraft and The Occult Vol. 3: Devil’s Night, Barrel-Aged Dark Saison with Tart CherriesFowl Play 6: The Undiscovered Country Divided By the Needs of the Few > The One aka Neo, Barrel-Aged Old AleNo Chocolate Frosted Mini Donuts Were Harmed in the Making of This Barrel-Aged Pastry Stout, brewed with Cacao and Vanilla**plus some an in-process surprise straight from the barrel!**ABOUT THE PALACE OF BARRELS Our Palace of Barrels is home to over 100 oak vessels. These barrels come to us from both the wine and spirits trades and can be used for primary or secondary fermentations as well as extended aging and conditioning. In a typical brewery, the brewer goes to great lengths to keep a controlled sterile environment. Ambient yeasts, bacteria and microflora are viewed as unwelcome pests who will serve to spoil a brewer’s hard work. Our Oakcult brews take a very different approach. Foregoing sterile stainless steel vessels for wood, which cannot be sterilized, allows for the presence of oxygen as well as a variety of wild yeasts and other organisms. Wine barrels are a particularly hospitable home for a variety of wild yeasts and other organisms that over time can transform a conditioning brew in remarkable ways. The Oakcult, keepsake, beers produced at the Palace are genuinely precious. Often only 1 or 2 barrels worth of a given blend or secondary ferment makes it into bottles for a given release. Historically these beers have only been available for to-go purchase from our tasting rooms. These beers do not see wholesale distribution. Treat these beers more like one would relate to red wine. Pick out something that catches your eye, take it home, store it in a cool, dry place, and open it on the right occasion. ABOUT YOUR HOST: Sayre Piotrkowksi is HenHouse's Brand Manager he previously ran both our sales and marketing teams.
