Fishing handlines are compact, lightweight, and versatile. They are also fun to make. Students will learn knife & saw safety, skills, and sharpening at the beginning of class. We will process wood down into blanks to carve our own wooden fish that will become a fishing handline. this class will cover many fundamental of wood carving, and also include how to fish, find fishing spots, and cast the handlines we make. Sandpaper, fishing line, hooks, sinkers, swivels, and bait will be provided. Students are encouraged to get a Massachusetts fishing license before class so we can fish at the river where class is held. Open to adults or families. 1 ticket = 1 person.
