The 100 Show recognizes the best creative work from designers within Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Agencies, freelancers, and in-house teams are celebrated for their efforts in a range of design disciplines including advertising, branding, packaging, environmental design, interactive design, service design, and more. The awards culminate in the top 100 works - showcasing the Best of Category winners and a single work that is Best of Show. Along with great conversation and networking, a keynote, and special announcements from the board, AIGA Louisville will be offering food and drink to enjoy while celebrating the Top 100 works of our design community. Originally the Fischer Meat Packing Company, the Mellwood Art Center offers an industrial flair few places in Louisville can match. We house over 170 artist studios, galleries, shops, gyms, and more! We give local businesses and artists the space to make their wildest dreams come true. Our 2023 Keynote Speaker is Benjamin Blount Ben Blount is a Detroit born artist, designer and letterpress printer best known for work that explores ideas of race, identity and the stories we tell ourselves about living in America. He studied graphic design at Washington University in St. Louis, book arts at Columbia College Chicago and filled in the gaps with mentors and lots of practice. Ben has worked a designer and art director for last 25 years primarily in the publishing and healthcare spaces. He is a believer in the power of the printed word and loves to tell stories by putting ink on paper. In 2018, he opened MAKE, a storefront letterpress studio in Evanston, Illinois and began in earnest his adventure in letterpress printing. Ben shares his passion for print and design by teaching and speaking to students and educators around the country. He is an active member of his local art scene, a board member of Artists Book House and Fine Press Book Association. His work is included included in numerous collections including: The Chicago Field Museum, The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
