We’ll talk about why invasive species are so good at invading, common woodland native plants in the area, and what you can do in your yard to help native species flourish!
This event is in partnership with Trust for Public Land and The Chattery in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Trust for Public Land.
About the instructors:
Rosy Harpe graduated from UTK with an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (with honors) degree before moving back to her hometown of Chattanooga. She's worked with WaterWays as an intern and then program coordinator for the last three years, teaching homeowners about stormwater mitigation and helping out with restoration and rain garden projects. She now owns Two Natives Gardening with her partner Carson Whitmore where they focus on landscape design, installation and low-impact stormwater management.
Carson Whitmore was born and raised in the Chattanooga area before attending the American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC. There he received his associates degree in Traditional Masonry and Architectural Plaster. He has always loved working with his hands and being outdoors and continues to enjoy it now as a business owner of Two Natives Gardening LLC. He also has two cats!
