Welcome to the 18th, annual Free Family Fun Day walk/run, activity at John Topits Park! We will kick off this event at 8am, Saturday April 29th, 2023, at the National Armory Located on Norman Ave. (Right by the new Taco Bell in Empire District) This 8am time slot is to register to the 1mile Fun Run beginning at 9am. There will be no pre-registration this year, but you can pick up applications at most local schools beginning after spring break, at the Kids' HOPE Center, or at the event. At 9am, at the National Armory we will begin our 1mile Run/Walk on the marked trails on Empire Lake, finishing at the Upper John Topits Lake Family Fun Day Event. Beginning at 10am till 2pm At the John Topits Middle Empire Lake Park, there will be several free booths from a variety of community members. There will be a free BBQ lunch, sponsored by Northwest Natural Gas, prepared by The Lions Club. Other sponsors and participant include but not limited; Head Start/South Coast Early Learning; Coos Health & Wellness; Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife; Life Change Church; Bikers Against Child Abuse; Kairos; Court Appointed Special Advocates; Foster Parent Association; 4-H; Mill Casino; Bay Area Hospital; K-Dock; Advanced Health; Coos Hispanic Allies; Oregon Youth Authority, Health Equity Coalition, Walmart, BASA, Back Alley Bowling.... The list keeps growing! Each booth will have activities, education, and some prizes. Kids' HOPE Center will be bringing back their "Golden Ticket" prize packages also. This will indeed be a Family Fun Day for all ages!
