The City of Maitland and the Orange County / University of Florida IFAS Extension Office will present a free composting class for city residents at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Maitland Public Library, 501 S. Maitland Ave. Composting is a simple way to convert common kitchen and yard waste into a natural soil supplement for yards and plants. Registration is open to Maitland residents only. All participants who register and complete this class will receive a free backyard composter (limit one per Maitland household).
