This hike will take participants to Herngt 'Aki' Preserve in Live Oak Canyon for a substantial hike that covers about half of the 341 acres for about three miles. Staged at Gateway Ranch Staging and Parking area along Live Oak Canyon Road, the hike will go past hillsides of thriving native vegetation - thriving due to the terrific winter rains - the large meadow at the site of a proposed housing development, and the spectacular views of San Bernardino Peak and Jacinto Peak from the Jacinto Loop.
Every Trails at 10 event starts at 10am with a brief introduction to the site and the trail, and ends back at the staging area with a free lunch for all participants.
Take a hike, learn a lot, then enjoy a free lunch, provided through a generous grant from Beaver Medical Group.
Leashed dogs are welcomed.
Bring your own water bottle; we will provide re-fill water.
Wear a hat and good hiking shoes
