Parent Rights in Special Education - We will take a step-by-step look at the special education process with an emphasis on parental rights.
The Individualized Education Program (IEP) - We’ll begin with the basics - what an IEP is, brainstorming and preplanning, understanding the various parts of the IEP, from developing the present levels to determining the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
Transition to Adulthood - This is a must for parents with a youth ages 14 or older. You will discover how transition planning as part of the IEP can prepare your child for life after high school.
Building Partnerships Parent Panel - We’ll hear from other parents as they share stories about their journey.
Transition Resource Fair- Visit with local and state agencies that support transition age youth and young adults from 1p.m. to 3 p.m.
Lunch and materials provided plus a child care voucher for families that attend the conference from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
