Since it is St. Patrick's Day and on a Friday, the dress code is CASUAL and something GREEN in color is appropriate. Seating is limited due to the size of the space, so RSVP to guarantee your spot. Chef Green was born in Haiti and grew up in New York City, where she developed a deep love for great-tasting food. In 2009, she adopted a plant-based lifestyle and began experimenting with different dishes and flavors that she knew and loved as a child. She strongly believed that eating healthy should not mean sacrificing taste. She would often dream up recipes and bring them to life in her kitchen, constantly pushing the boundaries of plant-based cuisine. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, Chef Green opened Green Love Kitchen, a plant-forward restaurant in the city of Lithonia, an underserved and predominantly minority community. For the past 8 years, her restaurant has been on a mission to combat food deserts by providing healthy, delicious, and affordable plant-based dishes. Sidenote: Chef Green is also a graduate of the @habesha Urban Agriculture program and is a Sustainability Ambassador for the city of Atlanta Chef Green believes that food has the power to bring about positive change. With a firm belief that "health is wealth," Marie is committed to making a difference in her community, one meal at a time. But Green Love Kitchen is more than just a restaurant. It's a hub for local youth, as she provides job opportunities and valuable work experience. It's also a champion of local farmers, sourcing fresh, organic ingredients to create mouth-watering dishes that are good for you and good for the environment. And speaking of the environment, Chef Green is committed to sustainability, with several zero-waste initiatives in place, including clean energy oil pick-up and composting.
