We’re throwing a library party in every neighborhood! Join us at the Village Empowerment Center on March 22nd from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. for a free, family-friendly open house featuring snacks and fun visioning activities. What's your vision for Omaha's libraries? With exciting investments in technology, collection capacity, and distribution at Omaha’s future central public library, there will be new opportunities for every neighborhood library branch to realign and activate more public space to reflect the surrounding community's unique needs, goals, and lifestyles, while enjoying access to books, technology, and vibrant community spaces. Drop by this open house to help determine the vision for your neighborhood branch, your community, and Omaha’s library system. About the partners Omaha Public Library, Omaha Public Library Foundation, the City of Omaha, Do Space, Heritage Omaha, and the Omaha community are working together to develop a community-driven 2023 Library Facilities Plan. About our event host The Empowerment Network has emerged over the past seventeen years as a catalyst for bringing together individuals and organizations to accomplish visionary and strategic objectives, working towards closing long-standing gaps in Omaha traditionally based on race and geographic segregation. Its Village Empowerment Center in North Omaha is a one-stop center where families can connect and interact directly with providers in the areas of employment, housing, education, health, entrepreneurship and all areas of STEAM.
