Athena Books is excited to announce our very first book club, focused on the book Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, and moderated by our Athena Books Book Buyer, Barb Tankel. Remarkably Bright Creatures has been described as a "beautiful examination of how loneliness can be transformed, cracked open with the slightest touch from another living thing" (Kevin Wilson, author of Nothing to See Here). A New York Times Best Seller, it was also selected as a "Read with Jenna" pick in May 2022. Barb Tankel has been a bookseller and book buyer with independent bookstores in NY & CT for over 20 years and is an experienced book club moderator.
