Parenting is tough, but you're not alone! Our monthly Family Connections events at DSST: Byers provide parents and guardians an opportunity to build community and explore the topics that matter to you most. Family Connections events are held the third Thursday of each month at the DSST: Byers campus. This month: Tools to Navigate and Manage Stress. Join experts from the nonprofit, Resilient Futures, to learn about different types of stress, the stress response, and brain-based tools to support pre-teens, teens, and adults through stressful events. Our presenters from Resilient Futures will define different kinds of stress (healthy stress, toxic stress, stress build up, pandemic stress), do a deep dive into the brain, present tools to navigate/resolve stress, and provide a number of middle and high school-relevant scenarios. There will also be time for an open Q&A. All Byers families are encouraged to attend! Doors open at 5:45pm, program runs from 6-7:30 pm. Free refreshments and language interpretation will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
