Rain rain might never go away, but we're gonna ride anyway! Just not on the trails...please read category levels below for our rain plan. ALL LEVEL RIDERS WELCOME! The weather does not look promising this week to give the trails time to dry out for Sunday, March 19. However, we still want to gather and ride - it's been too long! So we hope you'll join us for some good trail stewardship (aka, not riding them) and muddy fun on the fire roads and paved roads! Please come prepared to ride in wet, possibly rainy, conditions. Heavy rain will cancel.
Meet at 9am at Trail House for registration, instructions, and raffle prizes. Plan to roll by 9:45am, and return between 12-12:30 to have lunch and drinks together.
Ride descriptions:
New riders & beginners; no changes. These groups will stick to Howarth Park and Annadel fireroads for some practice with mountain biking skills, and a loop around the park.
Intermediate & Advanced riders; Gravel-friendly ride through Annadel on fire roads, up & down Los Alamos (road) and back to Trail House. A gravel/cx/or hardtail mountain bike will be preferable. We will NOT be riding singletrack. A mountain bike of any kind will be fine, but will feel slower on the road portions (but who cares, lets just ride bikes already!). Los Alamos Rd. is an out-and-back, so it's easy to do as much or as little of the climb as you like. It is a low-traffic road with beautiful views. We can split these groups into preferred pace levels as needed along the way. Ambitious riders can drop down the back side to the creek if desired. Expect 12-20 miles, depending how far you go on Los Alamos Rd.
