Femigrants Foundation, a global community of female immigrants, recognizes and celebrates immigrant women's milestones, achievements, and impact during Women's Month. On International Women's Month, Femigrants brings together immigrant women of diverse backgrounds to support, share, and celebrate. It's an excellent opportunity to expand your professional network and connect with industry leaders and experts! Plus, enjoy delicious food, refreshers, and drinks (non-alcohol). The “Together We Rise” event is hosting strong and successful immigrant leaders from the corporate and business worlds. They will share their inspiring stories, experiences, and expertise, and give profound insights into how to use our strengths and rise together as a community of immigrant women. Our confirmed speakers: 1) FEMIGRANTS IN CORPORATE PANEL - GARIMA SAHAI, a Femigrant from India, is a technology leader, and was most recently Engineering Director at Google Inc., leading Google Ads products and teams. Garima migrated to the US in 2001 to pursue her MS in Computer Science at Stanford University. She started her career at Google as a Software engineer in 2003. She served as a DEI Lead and Women in Tech champion at Google and volunteered at the Google.org project to empower minority women in STEM. - PETRA LOVRIC, a Femigrant from Croatia, is a Program Manager at Cisco Systems. She moved to the US in 2013 after completing her Master's Exchange Internship Program. Croatia at the time lacked its recognizable brand in the US which has motivated Petra to keep gaining new skills and cultivating the mindset of over-delivering. Petra loves helping and encouraging people to find the tools needed for reaching their goals in new environments, no matter the odds. - KATE KHATSEYEVA, a Femigrant from Belarus, is a President of the CCIS at Stanford and the founder of the Nonprofit Career Pathway Institute. Through Career Pathway Institute (CPI) her team helps immigrants and international talents to build their careers in the U.S. Kate is a documentary film lover and serves as a Juror Member and Sponsorship Coordinator at the United Nations Association Film Festival. - NANCY CHENG, a Femigrant from Taiwan, is a Partner at Perkins Coie. Nance is experienced in litigating patents in various fields, including semiconductor fabrication, network security, 3D memory, graphics, video encoding/decoding, and WiFi. Nancy has served as a core member of patent litigation teams that have secured victories for leading technology companies at various stages of dispute resolution: motion to dismiss, trial, and appeals. - AYTAKIN ALIYEVA, a Femigrant from Azerbaijan. She is the founder of the Femigrants Foundation, and works as a Creative Project Manager at HTC VIVE. Aytakin started her career in America from scratch and was able to make it to Fortune 500 Tech companies in Silicon Valley including Instagram, Oculus, and NIVIDIA. Her story on building Femigrants' community has been published in several news media including Forbes, and Intuit. etc. Aytakin Aliyeva will moderate the panel discussion with women in corporate. 2)FEMIGRANTS IN BUSINESS & NON-PROFIT PANEL - BULBUL GUPTA, a Femigrant from India, is the President & CEO of Pacific Community Ventures. She previously led Entrepreneurship & Impact Investing at the Clinton Global Initiative, helped launch the Obama White House's Impact Investing task force in 2013, and advised the Clinton-Kane and Biden-Harris presidential campaigns on inclusive entrepreneurship and racial equity. Bulbul is passionate about making markets and technology work for social good, and the future of workers. - HANNI GEIST, a Femigrant from Germany, is a Senior Manager of University Relations for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). She co-founded Bay Area Young Professionals in International Education (BAYPIE) to connect professionals in the Bay Area with a passion for international education. Her mental health struggles throughout her academic and professional career motivated her to be an advocate for mental health awareness and support. - AFAG SHUKUROVA, a Femigrant from Azerbaijan, an Owner of CryoSF LLC. She started her business with one equipment and service, and now, now has multiple locations in the Bay Area with 7 types of services. Afag’s life motto is “Obstacles are the chance for better opportunities. Take your time and observe carefully what the Universe wants to tell you”. - ANA MERNIK BOHRA, a Femigrant from Slovenia, a Realtor and Real Estate Investor at Sereno. Her greater joy is helping people to buy and sell residences and investment properties that empower them financially!
