Our goal is to be a support to you for this journey of motherhood! Kelsi Peacock, of Peacock Family Chiropractic, will be co-hosting this event with Kathy Thomas of Indy Lactation Care! This will be the FIRST in a SERIES of monthly workshops designed for MOTHERS! At this first class, Kelsi will open by sharing her story of learning to breastfeed her son, Aiden. She had several challenges with a traumatic birth, tongue and lip ties, low supply, reflux, and had to figure out bottle feeding, pumping, as well as breastfeeding. So, supportive family and professionals, including Kathy Thomas, made all the difference in their breastfeeding journey! Kathy Thomas of Indy Lactation Care has over 20 years of experience in the field and is a wealth of knowledge! She's highly sought after, yet taking the time to provide a FREE workshop for our patients and guests of our greater Indianapolis community! She'll be sharing answers to the most common questions about breastfeeding, pumping, formula, tongue ties, lip ties, and so much more! Here's just a few of the common questions we'll address: How do I know if baby is getting enough milk? What can I do if I know I have low supply? How long can I continue to breastfeed if I'm pregnant with another child? How might I be able to tandem breast feed? How do I select the right flange size for my pump? When should I start pumping if I'm going back to work? Which breast pump(s) are the best? What about mobile breast pumps? How do I select the best formula for my baby? What should I consider if seeking donor breast milk for baby? How do I know if my baby has a tongue or lip tie? If they do have a tie, what are my options? Please bring more questions you may have, as we are happy to help! We encourage all expecting mothers as well as mothers of newborns to join us! Whether this is your first baby, or fifth baby, each child is different to breastfeed, so come join us! Meet other moms in this season of life, and perhaps strike up a couple new friendships! This event is free, yet due to the demand, please make sure to mark your calendars, set reminders, and show up for the seat you reserve! This will be an incredible evening! Newborns are welcome to come with you. If you have a toddler or older child(ren), then if possible, please arrange childcare for the older children. If needed, you may bring them with you, but please notify us as early as possible, as this will impact our capacity for the number of total moms and extra hands we may need to have on hand.
