Join us for a fun day of volunteering to celebrate Earth Month!
The Elliott Street Playground in Morristown, NJ, has recreational equipment for both kids and adults and a community garden, but it has lost a significant number of trees due to the emerald ash borer and invasive species. Volunteers will remove invasive plants, plant native trees and shrubs, and establish a passive garden area behind the park's tennis court. The trees and shrubs planted will follow best practices established by the Morristown Shade Tree Commission, including being from at least five-gallon pots, having deer protection, and being watered weekly for the first year.
Meeting Point: Behind the tennis court near the rear of the park.
