Ammonoosuc Trout Unlimited is hosting a four-week series of fly tying classes featuring two member instructors. Art Greene and Mike Didio have extensive teaching experience in this field. Registration is open for ten seats and the minimum age is 14. To learn all necessary skills, attendees are encouraged to participate in all classes. Each attendee will learn from “Fly Tying Made Clear and Simple” by Skip Morris, the best book of its type for beginning fly tyers. Several businesses have provided a number of grab-bag items that will be ditributed to registered participants. Fly Tying Class Schedule Saturday, February 25 Introduction to fly tying techniques and tying two easy flies which can be used in all NH streams. Saturday, March 4 Tying two nymph patterns that are the favorite insect forms of Brook trout. Saturday, March 11 Tying an insect emerger pattern commonly referred to as a soft-hackle wet fly, and another pattern that is a favorite of many Ammonoosuc TU members. Saturday, March 25 Tying two dry flies which are the insect patterns often seen on the water surface.
