Title: Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) Facilitator Training: How to Utilize a Play Therapy Based Filial Intervention with Caregivers Instructor: Dr. Kim Coggins, PhD, NCC Dates: Friday, March 31 2023: 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1st 2023: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break CEUs: Potential of 10 Contact CEUs **Continuing Education disclosure: Connect Counseling Center, LLC will sponsor this training event provided that 8 participants register. Once 8 participants register, this event will be eligible for 10 Contact APT CEs. Connect Counseling Center, LLC is an APT Approved Provider, #21-642 Cost: Regular Rate: $220 Student Rate: $180 *Lunch and light snacks provided Location: 416 College Street, Clarksville TN, 37040 Description: This training is designed for practitioners in agency, private practice, and school settings who are interested in learning more about Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) and have a basic understanding of child centered play therapy. CPRT is an evidence-supported intervention that utilizes the caregiver-child relationship as the primary agent for change and addresses goals for both children and caregivers through intentional work with caregivers. In this workshop, we will cover the basic rationale, philosophy, history, supporting research, and theoretical concepts specific to CPRT. Participants will learn skills and material necessary for implementing CPRT with individual clients and in groups and will explore steps for applying the CPRT intervention in their own unique settings. Specific adaptations to the CPRT model for infants, preadolescents, teachers, and adoptive families will also be discussed. Behavioral Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will be able to describe research that supports CPRT broadly and with diverse populations. 2. Participants will be able to identify core principles and unique features of CPRT. 3. Participants will be able to identify objectives of CPRT. 4. Participants will be able to discuss special consideration with diverse populations. 5. Participants will be able to apply CPRT 10-session methodology techniques and skills. 6. Participants will be able to list the do’s and don’t’s for caregiver practice sessions with their child. 7. Participants will be able to apply supervision techniques for use in CPRT sessions for caregivers practice session video review. 8. Participants will be able to explain critical group process components of CPRT. 9. Participants will be able to explain critical teaching/training components for CPRT. 10. Participants will be able to apply specific adaptations of CPRT for special populations. 11. Participants will be able to design a plan to utilize CPRT in their own unique setting.
