Or, are we the result of the Lord’s peaceful speaking, “Let there be…” The World and the Lord are telling two very different stories about how things got started, and, as Mary Poppins taught us, “well begun is half done.” 10:45 A.M.: Session 2 - Who Are You? Synopsis: we all bits of cosmic shrapnel, the results of an ancient explosion? Or, are we the result of the Lord’s peaceful speaking, “Let there be…” The World and the Lord are telling two very different stories about how things got started, and, as Mary Poppins taught us, “well begun is half done.” 12:15 P.M.: Lunch (Free-Will Donation) 1:30 P.M.: Session 3 - How Things Went Wrong Synopsis: What’s wrong with the world? What’s wrong with me? The Bible talks about sin, but the world talks about systemic problems and political solutions. We’ll look at the different ways different worldviews diagnose the trouble we are in. 3:00 P.M.: Session 4 - What's the Fix? Synopsis: problems require different solutions. What is the Christian solution to our problem? Do we need a Savior, or are we saving ourselves? Where do justification and self-justification come into the picture? 4:30 P.M.: Vespers to Close the First Day of the Conference Saturday, July 8 8:30 A.M.: Matins to Open the Day 9:00 A.M.: Session 5 - How It Ends Synopsis: Where are things headed? Is there reason for hope? Can things get better, or will the universe eventually die in the heat-death of thermodynamic necessity? 10:45 A.M.: Session 6 - Living in the Middle of a Cosmological Rap-Battle Synopsis: The Christian story of history is full of order, life, hope, joy, and salvation. The world would pluck us from this faith and throw us into a den of despair. What does it mean for us to hold to the Lord’s Word while we wait for His appearing? 12:30 P.M.: Midday Prayer to Close the Conference
