Chinese Tea as a Cultural Experience Instructor: Shunyu HuangIn this session, we will discuss tea as a cultural experience in China. We will taste and discuss 3 teas from different regions throughout China. An open conversation will explore how tea is enjoyed in China. We will explore tea as a casual experience with friends, as the cornerstone of hospitality when welcoming people into your home, and as a formal experience in tea ceremony. Shunyu will share her personal experience with tea growing up in China.Shunyu was born in 1989 in a Southern China city Zhuhai in Guangdong Province.Before getting her Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, She travelled to Tibet, southwest China and southeast Asia with her film cameras in search of a connection of different peoples and their land, and of couse the way how people eat and drink. Tea has always been around since her early childhood, no matter where she goes in China, she is always welcomed by a hot (not warm) cup of tea; being invited to people’s homes and have conversations by the tea tables is a daily encounter.
