The purpose of this summit is to tell the under-told stories of African American women who actively play a vital part in shaping the state of our nation. This summit is intentionally being held at the end of March, Women’s History Month, to end it on a powerful note. The goals set for accomplishment are: 1. To increase African American Women students’ awareness of the importance of attending college. 2. To showcase the multiple areas of opportunities and the significant contributions that African American women play in business and industry. 3. Increase awareness and the significance of staying locally active and engaged within the community by using your voice and platform to create positive social change. 4. To increase the awareness of the collaborative partnership between Wallace Community College Selma and Miles College for a seamless transition from one institution to the next.
