Eileen McCafferty is a Flat Rock Brook Naturalist who recently received her master's degree in environmental management from Western Colorado University. Her passion for large carnivores, particularly wolves, has led her down a path of social sciences, and allowed her to gain skills in conflict resolution surrounding management plans. Her masters project focused on the 2020 Colorado Wolf Reintroduction project where she created an elaborate database on wolf management plans worldwide, and a deliberative democracy forum to aid stakeholders coming together to find resolutions to controversial issues regarding wolves. Eileen began volunteering at the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center providing raptor care in September 2022, and joined our education team in January of 2023. Her presentation will highlight the importance of Urban Green Spaces as wildlife corridors in a constantly developing world, as well as their importance for human connections with nature.
