Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free vascular screening on Thursday, April 13th from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 1233 Wayne Gilmore Circle (Suite 450) in Opelousas. Guests will receive a complimentary ankle brachial index (ABI) screenings screenings. An ABI simple, painless exam is used to test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk of vascular disease. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS providers. Risk factors of vascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive. Space is limited.
