Join the Lehigh Valley Psychedelic Society as we come together at the Harmony House to experience openness and healing through the medicines of Kava and Sacred Sound. In this ceremony, we will experience the natural joy that comes from working with these medicines, and come into deeper connection to our higher self, as well as bring restoration to the body and mind—leaving us more in touch with our truth and natural state of bliss. Our event will start out with some gentle movement to come into the body. We will then be led in a Kava ceremony and sound bath, and we will close with a heart-centered integration circle. Tickets will be first-come-first serve for 30 participants, so get your tickets soon! The first 10 tickets sold will be $40 each, after that, they will be $50 and $60, respectively. Kava Ceremony: In the Polynesian Islands, the tradition of cultivating Kava and drinking it during important gatherings has been a cornerstone of society for thousands of years. A tropical shrub with notched, angled stalks and heart-shaped leaves, it has drawn modern medical attention for its beneficial effects. Consumed to quell anxiety, relieve tension, and induce a more euphoric, peaceful state, Kava is a plant ally that can support many of us! Jen Hombach of Jaya Kava will lead us through a ceremony to pay respects to the Kava plant, and taking a dose that will aid in relaxation and opening up to receive the medicine of sound. Sound Healing: Sound has been used for all time as a way to uplift and heal. Every chakra and even organ resonates at a certain frequency, and when we play different sound tones, it invites the energy centers to come back to balance and release any energy that is keeping it from working at its peak performance. In this experience, Richie will utilize many different sources of sound to invite participants on a journey of self—leaving them more grounded, while invoking a deep sense of aliveness through activation. What To Bring: Please come with a yoga mat, pillows, cushions, or blankets. IMPORTANT NOTE: Kava is not recommended to be simultaneously consumed with alcohol, painkillers, prescription sedatives or anxiety medications. ***PARKING: Please car pull if possible. We only have 20 parking spots available. The rest of the cars will need to park at Tiptons Tavern nearby and be car pooled up. About Our Facilitators: Richie Parrella is a Somatic Therapist, Certified yoga teacher, Reiki Master and sound healer trained in Prana yoga, based in the lineages of Kundalini, Tantra yoga, and Ayurveda in the lineage of Dr. Vasant Lad. He facilitates sessions, classes, and groups with the intention to create a safe space for others to explore their inner experience, create transformation, as well as reduce stress, anxiety, and support the allowing of the body, mind, and spirit’s natural ability to heal. Jen Hombach is the Founder and Brew Master of Jaya Kava, Philly’s first Kava Tea Company, and the Co-Owner of the Lightbox Cafe, an organic, vegan establishment in Queen Village, Philadelphia. She is an Entreprenuer, Activist, Artist, and Plant Medicine Advocate with 550 hours of Yoga Certification and a decade of experience in Sales and Marketing for Sustainable Businesses. Through her contributions of vegan foods and medicinal brews, her curations and creations of poetry and art, and especially through her collaborations in widening the experience of conscious community gatherings: she seeks to advance a societal “new normal” : from one of stress and separation towards a flourishing and vibrant mycelium of blissful and balanced individuals. ------- The Lehigh Valley Psychedelic Society is a community committed to educating and connecting those interested in psychedelics, spirituality, and healing.
