FLORAL DESIGN EXTRAVAGANZA - MEMBERS ONLY We’re excited to offer this workshop featuring our Club’s own fabulous judges! Whether you are a Novice, Intermediate, or Experienced designer, this workshop is for you! The judges have found containers (cute small baskets). You are asked to purchase 2 bunches of flowers (see list of places to get flowers below). Filler greens will also be provided. There will be a small charge (approximately $8.00 cost to cover the container, chicken wire, and filler greens) to participate. You are asked to bring clippers and gloves. You may also want to bring a small box (perhaps with bubblewrap) in which to transport your design home. The workshop will begin with a brief talk on mechanics and some dos and don’ts to make your arrangement the best it can be. Information sheets on the principles of design will be handed out. If you have any questions about the size of the blossoms of the flowers and/or kinds of flowers, please reach out to LuBeth Kuemmerle, Joanne Kennett, Nancy Donaldson, or Joan Mason. Scale is important. If you would prefer to come and observe, please feel welcome to do so. Places to get flowers: Trader Joe’s (the pick of the judges), Shaw’s, Market Basket, Stop & Shop, Gordons (Ipswich), Whole Foods ($$$), or Crosby’s ($$$). The judges have put a lot of time into planning this workshop, so we hope you will thank them with your participation. Note: There will not be a Design competition. There will be a Horticulture competition with judging beginning at 6:45 pm. With respect to our members and guests at high risk for illness: Vaccinations are highly recommended & masks should be worn indoors by those at high risk or who are unvaccinated.
