Description
YOU are cordially invited to attend an in-person book event! Relax amid the tranquil surroundings of Timothy Oulton's Noble Souls gallery. Sink into the world's most comfortable sofas surrounded by furnishings handmade from pure, natural materials, as Kelly Sullivan Walden (aka “Doctor Dream”) shares with you stories from her humorous self-help memoir, A Crisis Is a Terrible Thing to Waste. During this book talk you’ll learn to: • Shift your perspective • Stop negative thought loops • Transform the tragic into magic • Decode your dreams More about the event: More than 40 million Americans suffer from anxiety and depression. Experts say much of that is due to what’s known as “negative thought loops.” This is when you ruminate about something hurtful someone did or said, or something you’re ashamed or embarrassed about from the past or projected into the future. Negative thought loops are mental habits—like a default radio station that plays all by itself. And habits, according to Kelly, can be changed. To stop our thought loops, Walden will share with you her 4-step OGLE method to transform the tragic into magic, by: O: Identifying the offending behavior. G: Finding the good in the offending behavior. L: Determining how you’re peering into the looking glass. E: Asking how this will elevate you, or what elevated action you will take. According to Kelly, “Much like our nightmares, life’s unexpected mishaps and misfortunes are opportunities for self-exploration. The nightmares we have by night and day are simply ‘unfinished dreams.’ It's up to us, as the directors of our dreams, to assign a new ending to the story we keep telling ourselves. Once we do that, the loop ends, and we discover we have the available bandwidth to create a new story for our lives. Kelly Sullivan Walden is an award-winning, bestselling author of ten books; a dream expert, certified clinical hypnotherapist, inspirational speaker, workshop facilitator, she holds a doctorate degree in interfaith studies. Her unique approach to dream-work led her to consult with thousands of individuals from Fortune 500 executives to celebrities to stay-at-home moms. She hosts The Kelly Sullivan Walden Show podcast.
