Join us for a fun day of volunteering to celebrate Earth Month!
Planting Partner: Texas Trees Foundation
Event Description:
The Park in the Woods planting is a part of the Branching Out program aimed at replacing lost canopy, increasing tree canopy, and supporting neighborhood beautification. The planting will take place on April 1st, 2023, for approximately 5 hours, with 50 trees planted in high-traffic recreation areas. The planting location was chosen based on environmental justice statistics, and this location is below the recommended amount of tree canopy and the City of Dallas's goals. Volunteers will help plant trees and prepare them for long-term maintenance, and all tools, snacks, refreshments, and t-shirts will be provided.
Meeting Point: Volunteers will meet near the baseball field. Parking signage and the meet-up spot will be throughout the park to help with directions.
