Description
FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! On April 29, 2023 We will be holding a fundraiser for M.A.E. ‘Make Another Ending’. Together the sister’s and owners of Smokin’ Barrel BBQ (CJ) and Greater Purpose Counseling, LLC (Falicia) will start the process of creating a nonprofit called M.A.E. This nonprofit will be in honor of our mother, Brenda Mae who died of ovarian cancer in 2020. Brenda was born in, lived in, and died in domestic violence throughout her lifetime. The collaboration will combine both trained skills and life skills learned to help others make another ending with their lives. As victims of domestic violence, we understand how hard it is to make another ending when developmental trauma, abuse, and existing in survival is life. As survivors, we know how to overcome the obstacles with the help of God, creating a supportive tribe, and not giving up. As overcomers, we know what it is like to make another ending for the next generation to have broken the cycle of domestic violence. We as a team with our husband’s are excited to help others transition from victim to survivor, to overcomer. Many victims of domestic violence, dysfunctional family systems, or survivors of abuse remain with abusers or dysfunctional systems due to not having outside supports, lack of therapy, and lack of job skills. Many non-violent offenders that renter the community struggle with job security due to having been incarcerated. M.A.E. has the mission and vision to create jobs for those leaving domestic violence, dysfunctional family, systems, and assist with reentry into society for non-violent offenders. M.A.E. also has the mission and vision to create clinical and Christian integrated retreats for men, women, minors, and families that experience burnout, compassion fatigue, adoption, and so much more. These retreats will also be for those who have given their lives to ministry whether serving at a local church or serving in a foreign country. These retreats will be all inclusive where people can connect to nature, disconnect from society, and eat quality BBQ. As a nonprofit organization, M.A.E. will qualify for various grants that will provide mental health services, job opportunities, and leadership skill building opportunities for FREE to a population that needs the support. Details: April 29, 2023 at Camp Sertoma we will host a plated dinner with the cost of $50 per plate. Smokin’ Barrel BBQ will cater the meal for the night!! Our goal is to raise $10k for the cost of starting the nonprofit and the cost for a grant writer. We want to hit the ground running with being approved and being able to provide services in the 2023 calendar year!! Please mark your calendars and make plans to come be part of the start of for M.A.E.!! Please keep M.A.E in your prayers because there are other visions long-term for M.A.E. which include the right recreational property!! If you are looking for a worthy cause to support, this is it!!
