Elizabeth Allen Berry is teaching “Crafting Spellbooks” A workshop series for students to create zines that revolutionize their art and poetry through self-publishing. In this workshop we will take four 8.5” by 11” pieces of paper and make our own hand make books (called zines). Zines are easily reproducible and have a high profit margin so they are an inspiring way for artists to monetize on their art and become self-published authors! This all ages workshop series will be held inside of Akin Cooperative from 5:30-7:00pm. This is A four week workshop series and it aims to get students form poets and artists to self-published authors, monetizing on their work. Elizabeth is a spoken word poet and the founder of Cosmic Q Publishing. Since the beginning of 2022 she has self published over 20 Zines! Below you can look at the first 4 chapters of Elizabeth's upcoming book "becoming the void walker" in zine format! Each workshop will be an hour and a half long. Feel free to bring any art or poetry that you are inspired to work with. No prior experience is necessary. These student workshops are free and open to the public thanks to a local literary non-profit, Poetry Promise inc. Class size is limited to 10 people. Registration Required.
