Dear respected members,
Muslim American Society (MAS) in Katy would like to cordially invite you for dinner on Sunday , March 26th from 6:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m at MAS Katy, 1800 Baker Rd., Houston, TX 77094.
Every year at MAS Katy, we celebrate the holy month of Ramadan together, and we invite the rest of our neighborhood to come and dine with us. It is a great opportunity to see what the Muslim community is truly all about.
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until dusk. We do not eat or drink anything during the day and break our fast at night. Ramadan is not just there for abstaining from food or drink though – it is practiced mainly to build character and self discipline, as well as increase awareness of our true dependence on God. Ramadan is a means for the individual to create good habits, break bad ones, give charity, and improve morality. Fasting also enables us to experience a little of what less privileged people throughout the world go through on a daily basis, and allows us to better ourselves through sharing and compassion.
We would be honored if you and your congregation joined us on this occasion. There will be a short presentation on Islam and Ramadan prior to the Dinner and breaking the fast. We hope that you will be able to share this information with your members and join us on March 26th - Sunday , so we can build bridges of communication and strengthen our relationships
