You will learn about the home-buying process, what you need to do in order to get a mortgage, the benefits of homeownership, the challenges of homeownership, and mortgage and lending terms in this class. Lunch provided!What is Down Payment Assistance?There are many people who find it challenging to save the cash down payment for a home, and in Western Washington, the rate at which home prices are increasing can sometimes surpass the amount of time it takes for many people to save. FORTUNATELY, THERE IS A SOLUTION!Homebuyers who use specific mortgage programs available from most lenders can receive down payment assistance from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. This means those who qualify can purchase a home with No Money Down. As a condition of their down payment assistance programs, the WSHFC requires all home buyers who wish to purchase a home to attend a homebuyer education class sponsored by the WSHFC and to work with a trained mortgage lender with a DPA designation.
