Join MassMu for a free screening of the PBS documentary series Asians Americans. The series chronicles the contributions and challenges of Asian Americans. Personal histories and new academic research cast a fresh lens on US history and the role Asian Americans have played in it. This screening will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will feature episode one of the series. EPISODE 1 BREAKING GROUND: In an era of exclusion and US empire, new immigrants arrive from China, India, Japan, the Philippines and beyond. Barred by anti-Asian laws they become America’s first “undocumented immigrants,” yet they build railroads, dazzle on the silver screen, and take their fight for equality to the US Supreme Court.
