Description

Join a group of Utah-based donors to explore best practices and principles in listening, proximity, and relationship building between donors and grantees. Trust-Based philanthropy has been gaining momentum as an approach that alleviates power imbalances toward a more just and equitable nonprofit sector. While it is most associated with unrestricted grants and streamlined applications and reports, it is much greater than the sum of these practices. Fundamentally, trust-based philanthropy flips the script on the compliance-oriented culture of traditional philanthropy so that nonprofits have the agency and opportunity to achieve greater impact. Please visit https://www.trustbasedphilanthropy.org/practices to learn more about the practices of Trust-Based Philanthropy. Presenters include: Shaady Salehi - Trust-Based Philanthropy Project Brenda Solorzano - Headwaters Foundation Kathleen Pitcher Tobey - Call to Action Foundation and Call Foundation Kristin Andrus - Andrus Family Foundation The meeting room is on the second floor of the Megaplex Theater in the “Capra Suites” room. Please park in the south garage lot and enter the Megaplex Theater through the sliding doors on the south end. Lunch will be provided. This is a in-person only convening.
