Dance the night away to current and nostalgic feel-good hits provided by popular North State DJ Jake Anderson. Attendees will sip on Alpen Cellars wine, non-alcoholic beverages and Trinity County Brewing Company beer, as they nominate this year's Mountain Prom Court Royalty, take photos with friends and gaze at the star power generated by this year's lip sync competitors. The Let's Roll food truck will be onsite to satiate "hungry like a wolf" appetites in addition to a delectable dessert bar. The lip sync competition is open to individuals and groups and will be judged on showmanship. Crown pleasing tactics such as costumes, props and choreography are encouraged for a chance at the fabulous grand prizes of local AirBnB and houseboat rentals. Space is limited, so prospective performers are encouraged to email their submissions by March 6 for consideration to Prom Committee Chair Chriss Williams at [email protected]. Songs and performances must be family friendly. Ascend Wilderness Experience is a nonprofit organization based in Weaverville. Since 2006, it has led hundreds of adventures into the Trinity Alps Wilderness providing all food, gear, transportation and training at no cost to participants. This year, Ascend is expanding its programming by hosting a Spring Break Day Camp April 10-14 for elementary school-aged children.
