On March 30th START - Springfield Transgender and Ally Resource Team will be hosting a film screening at The Moxie, showing the short film "Crush" and Oscar-nominated web-series "Her Story". Preceding the showing will be a march from the square in support of transgender rights in Missouri. We are here, we are proud, and we are willing to fight for our rights that our legislators continually try to strip from our trans youth, our trans BIPOC members, and all umbrella individuals. "Her Story is about two trans women in Los Angeles who have given up on love, when suddenly chance encounters give them hope. Violet is drawn to Allie, a reporter who approaches her for an interview, while career-driven Paige meets James, the first man she’s considered opening up to in years. Will they risk letting what they are stand in the way of being loved for who they are?" Crush, a short film written and directed by local filmmaker Hunter Adams, follows a trans high schooler named Eli (Spencer Stringer) as he navagates family, bullying, and even romance. Following the showing will be a panel featuring members from the short film Crush.
