This April 1st, 2023, we are coming together again for the Black & White Ball 2.0, to fundraise for the Mikel Freeman Foundation; a non-profit created to raise critical capital to help build a soccer and community recreation facility in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The runway for the 2023 Black & White Ball will feature new, spring lines from FIVE incredibly talented couturiers: Kimberly Jurek of Alma Mia and owner of the Fitting Room, Mimi Nguyen of Vo Nguyen Atelier, Lesley Laster of Couture M. Helen, Eli Both of Nubicollections by: Bothdoll (a globally recognized designer showing at NYFW, Art Basil and many more…) Closing the show will be a collection of wire couture by Arianne Zager. If that wasn’t enough, this year’s runway event will also feature guest appearances from the globally acclaimed dance group the URBAN BUSH WOMEN. Currently on tour across the United States, the Urban Bush Women have graciously agreed to send 2 Creative Directors and one of their Key Live Musicians to dance a short, intensive focus from their original masterpiece of modern dance, HAINT BLUE. The Urban Bush Women do NOT have a scheduled stop in Minnesota along their global tour, and are making a special trip, exclusive to the Black & White Ball, so the experience and your ticket value is elevated by their presence.
