Description

The Vermont Kindergarten ConferencePearls of Wisdom: The Power of StoriesCelebrating 30 Years with Stories that Honor Early Learning and TeachingA Focus on the Development and Learning of Young ChildrenThe Vermont Kindergarten Conference is designed for early childhood educators, principals, and curriculum directors throughout Vermont to celebrate the brilliance within all children, explore ways to create engaging learning environments for young learners, and foster collaboration among early educators. This year, the conference will focus on ways to support the development of children’s literacy and language skills as well as social and emotional learning through stories and storytelling. Stories provide an avenue for increasing the understanding of different cultures, fostering oral language skills, and nurturing children’s curiosity and imagination. We are pleased to announce that the keynote speaker this year will be Jane Lindholm! She is the host, executive producer, and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. Jane also produces special projects for Vermont Public and has published a nonfiction series of books for children, answering some of their most interesting questions. Jane will share her thoughts about the importance of nurturing curiosity in both children and adults, and how listening carefully can help to uncover children’s wonderful ideas. Click here to access the workshop options and descriptions. You will be asked to register for one morning and one afternoon workshop during the registration process.
