For more than 30 years, young ladies have been formally presented to the Cedar Valley community and awarded scholarships through the Club Les Dames Debutante Cotillion.
The Club Les Dames Debutante Cotillion, was started in 1986-87 and was developed for young ladies who are Seniors in high school in order to equip, encourage and stimulate them to pursue higher education, academic excellence, personal development, and civic involvement. The program focuses on the needs of African American young women.
The program objectives are achieved through a four-month program consisting of educational workshops, activities, individual & group community service, and program rehearsals. The culminating event is the Annual Debutante Cotillion where the young ladies are formally presented to society and scholarships are awarded.
