About Transformational BreathworkHow we breathe has an incredible impact on our nervous system and overall health. This is why respiration is the only system in the body that is autonomous and also within our ability to control and manipulate. It impacts all the other aspects of the body so profoundly. So our breath functions to facilitate the exchange of gases, but it also serves as our mechanism for processing energy. We understand that everything in this existence, including ourselves, is energy. Which means feelings and emotions are energy too. How Our Body Processes EmotionsOur mind constantly generates emotions about everything we hear, see, smell, taste, or touch. Though feelings aren't psychological, they are physiological. They exist in the physical body, and that's very evident if we think about it. When we get anxious, we feel it, right? What you are feeling is literally changing the chemistry of your body. The feelings may have started in the mind, but it immediately seeps into the body. It's all energy, and a prime function of our breath is to cycle that energy. Pulling it in and clearing it out. Depending on which part of the nervous system is active at the time, those feelings will either get processed, and we can move on from them, or we hold on to them because our body is still in a state of fight or flight and believes it still needs whatever it is to get through that experience. Fight or Flight vs. Rest and DigestOur breathing patterns are the key component to regulating our nervous system. Every single breath we take sends signals to our system to activate the fight or flight (Sympathetic Nervous System) or the rest and digest (Parasympathetic Nervous System). When we breathe shallowly and rapidly, our body will lock in energy because the way we breathe tells us that there is a threat, and we need that energy to get through a stressful or dangerous situation. In contrast, when we breathe deep and slow, our body will be able to release and process that energy, because the threat is gone. So taking time to bring awareness into our breath, especially after a stressful situation, really makes a huge difference in allowing all the energy and emotion around that situation to be released and doing anything we can to let that energy organically express itself. Now with that being said, when we are dealing with traumas and energy that our bodies have been storing for years and even decades, it requires a much more profound mechanism to allow them to be released. Transformational breathwork is an efficient and expedient means to facilitate that release. When not released, it can become a full-time job with the mind. This breathwork allows the mind to finally release its grip on all those things, freeing up time and space to think about what we actually want for ourselves. The Internalization ProcessThe other layer to why the breathwork is so powerful is its profound internalization process. We are bringing our awareness into our body in such a profound way, and for a lot of people, 45 minutes can be the longest time they've spent just focusing on their own bodies in one sitting. So just that alone can give us such a powerful insight into what is going on in our body by bringing our awareness there. We start to become aware of self-views and self-limiting beliefs, which before were utterly unconscious, and even though they play such a massive role in the decisions that we make and even how we perceive life, they do so unconsciously right. Without our approval or blessing. So not only does this breathwork allow us to release stored trauma and energy, but it can also set the table for a personal transformation process to begin or deepen if we step into it with that intention. About Kundalini Activation What is Kundalini ActivationThis process activates your body’s innate ability to heal itself. In a session, spontaneous movements can and do arise. Some consider it a cathartic experience or something that gives them deep insights or realizations but these are just some of the side effects that can and do happen. A profound rewiring of the brain structure and central nervous system happens with continued exposure. Every “symptom” or sign of a kundalini awakening, from the earliest signs to the later end manifestations, are seen regularly in participants. As far as the actual process goes– you’ll lay down on a yoga mat while music is played and the facilitator will touch or presses some of the chakra or meridian points on your body. That’s it, that’s all that happens on the outside. However, what happens on the inside is a totally different story… Why Activate?Activated Kundalini may have a profound impact on your well-being and bring you back to your center. This energy can be a very healing and replenishing experience and can reconnect you with the infinite source of spiritual power. This process may increase awareness, mental clarity, lower anxiety and/or depression, relieve body aches and/or pains, release stagnant energies and emotions, and access higher frequency vibration. The ProcessThis is not a self-willed or self-generating process, it is the path of surrender and allowing this intelligent energy to do exactly what your system needs at that very moment. While laying down on a yoga mat, music is played and the facilitator will direct energy at different chakra or meridian points on the body. After Effects You may feel the energy for the next couple of days. Be aware of any changes within yourself or your behavior. You may become more sensitive and connected to your highest self. It’s important in the following days to be aware of your energy levels and to listen to what your body is telling you. For example, you may need more rest, or crave different foods, dreams can differ, or sleep can become deeper. You may experience more clarity or insight. The after effects vary amongst each individual. About Sound HealingEverything in the Universe is in a state of vibration. All living things on Earth emit and absorb specific frequencies, traveling within and around us at all times. Sound, the vibration of Energy, is everywhere, and constant; it travels at distances and levels far beyond the human hearing range. Thus Sound Healing can occur without us even knowing. Every single part of our minds and bodies, from the electromagnetic signals in our brains down to the atomic particles within the cells, has its own unique vibration. Under the best conditions, the human body is in Harmony or a healthy state of being. When one or more of our vibrations are out of balance, or not resonating properly, these imbalances cause Non-Harmonious issues in the mind and body. These can present as chronic illness, chronic pain, mental and emotional imbalances, and all other states of disease. These blockages can be caused by traumas that happen throughout our lifetimes, prolonged states of stress, repressed emotions, and negative and/or harmful environmental conditions. For thousands of years, human beings from every corner of the world have used sound healing and music to heal themselves, by restoring the multitudes of vibrations within us to their optimal frequencies. No matter what our spiritual backgrounds are, through the mystical grace of energy, frequency, and vibration, we can guide ourselves to better, physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It is truly “Sending Good Vibes” to ourselves, and to the world around us, as those vibrations also resonate outward from within us. Sound Healing instruments relax the mind into the meditative, Alpha-Theta brainwave state. Through the laws of Physics, as the active mind calms, the subconscious mind and body absorb the vibrations of the instruments and begin to immediately synchronize the lower vibrations within us back to their optimal frequencies. Sound Healing assists the mind in healing the body. We all have the power to heal ourselves; Sound Healing accelerates this process. Come with zero expectations!Meet Your FacilitatorsChad CarpenterFounder of Soul Space Yoga & Wellness and a 5th generation Southern Floridian, Chad started practicing yoga 6 years ago when the pain and stiffness following his 3rd ACL replacement motivated him to find a long-term proactive approach to rehabilitating his injuries. Chad then completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training covering traditional pranayama (breath control) practices, where he discovered the power behind the breath. He decided to gain more training through transformational breathwork with various breath masters and has now guided over 100 people through transformational breathwork journeys. Chad finds purpose in sharing the practice with others as a path to mindful and conscious living and a path to contentment. He hopes to help others find the same physical, mental and spiritual freedom that he has found through his own practice.
