Description

Why take or teach logrolling? Log rolling helps students—both adults as well as children—grow in focus, self-confidence, and determination. Physically, it teaches balance, coordination, strength, and endurance. Recent studies completed at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, prove the cardiovascular benefits of logrolling. And it’s fun. One of the greatest things about log rolling is regardless of the skill level, there is always room for improvement, a new goal to achieve, and victories to be had. Log rolling is open to any and everyone, all ages and backgrounds. A low-cost sport, all that’s needed to get started is a swimsuit and feet, then eventually, a pair of tennis shoes. Becoming a log roller means belonging to a community filled with lasting friendships. Facilities looking for ways to provide recreational activities that are outside of the box, log rolling is a great option that can be a revenue generating program.  Log rolling programs can be found across the country and are rapidly spreading, especially to newer aquatic facilities. The Log Rolling Instructor Training Video is the product of more than 45 combined years of log rolling teaching.  In creating the Instructor Training Video, common teaching concepts that are used to train Lifeguards and Swim Instructors were applied.  The goal of the video is to enable any person with knowledge of teaching motor skills to start and maintain a program that will greatly enhance the aquatics programs at his/her facility. This course will be taught by Katie Burke, professional log roller and co-author of the Instructor Manual. What’s included in KRICK Instructor Training? KRICK, LLC offers a Log Rolling Instructor Training DVD, and a Log Rolling Instructor Training manual. This 4-hour trainer course is intended for potential instructors/Aquatic personnel who may direct the programming.
