Learn survival skills through fun challenges and mini-adventures. The "s'more" the merrier . . . but there are limited spots! Survivor Camp is for budding survivalists ages 6 -11 and is hosted by Acton Academy Madison West. Campers will be presented with daily situations and work together to solve problems, discuss solutions and "survive the wild". Questions they may address are . . . Where will we be able to find food and water?How can we find a place to stay warm and dry?How can we work as a team to make a fire, create a camp, build a shelter? Daily schedule example: 8:00 AM | "Soft landing": Begin the day with free play or explore our Maker's Space8:45 | Morning meet-up: Gather as a group to go over the day's challenge9:00 | Projects: Work together to conquer the challenge!10:30 | Free choice11:30 | Lunch & Outdoor adventure time: Explore the wooded areas and rocky creek around the school & enjoy the nearby playground 12:15 PM | D.E.A.R.: "Drop Everything & Read" 1:30 | Free choice 2:00 | "The Art, Science & Movement of Survival": Themed art projects, science experiments and activities to further explore what it means to be a survivalist3:00 - 3:15 | Closing group: End the day together, singing songs and reading a story, and going over the highs and lows of the day! Please note: This is 5-day camp. When signing up, you will choose the date camp begins (March 27) however you will be registering for all 5 days (March 27-31). Deadline to register is March 15, 2023.
