About Janice Kelsey Janice Kelsey is a Birmingham, Alabama native who participated in the Children's Crusade in 1963. She along with hundreds of other students walked out of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and were immediately arrested by the Birmingham police. Today she travels across the United States speaking about the Civil Rights Movement and describing how she and other youth used their power to help desegregate the city of Birmingham and change America.
