Description

Started in 2016, Women in Entrepreneurship (WiE) is a community of entrepreneurs, supporters, and advocates that meetup to share stories, tips, and advice for any woman either running a business or wanting to start one. Our group meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. --------------------------------- March 2023 Event:How to Create a Greater Level of Financial Security: Join us on Tuesday, March 14th, for “How to Create a Greater Level of Financial Security” led by Emily Jenkins, Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual. Short-term and long-term financial planning for business owners can be tricky. We hope you will join us for this open discussion! Emily is a 2001 Graduate of the University of Tennessee.  After spending 14 years in Marketing and Advertising she started her career with Northwestern Mutual. As an Associate Financial Advisor for 5 years Emily noticed that there needed to be a stronger female presence in the world of Financial Advisors.  Growing up in East Tennessee money had always been a ‘taboo’ topic, especially for women, so while working with her husband she saw an opportunity to open financial conversations to a broader audience. Emily is working to help women become more financially independent by offering more education and exposure to financial topics. Emily has now worked with Northwestern Mutual for 8 and ½ years. She is investment, insurance & Medicare Licensed in multiple states, holds her Retirement Income Certified Professional designation and is currently working towards her Chartered Life Underwriter Designation. Emily has been married to her life and business Partner Shaun for 21 years and they have two Boys Luke (18) and Eli (15).
