This Technology Transfer Workshop sponsored by Lunsford Environmentalis an indoor and outdoor technology program for construction site erosion and sediment control practices with hands-on field demonstrations. Participants will receive instruction on proper installation techniques and applications of BMPs such as silt fence, wattles, mats, inlet protection, ditch checks, hydromulch and seeding, and more while ensuring proper installation practices, inspection procedures, and maintenance issues. The workshop provides participants with education on implementation tools and installation techniques to provide efficient and effective erosion and sediment controls in both horizontal and vertical construction in an effort to improve environmental compliance and water quality. This workshop is designed to educate our private sector construction contractors, land developers, consultant engineers, plus the public sector and regulatory agency staff, planners, designers, inspectors, and citizens interested in learning more about erosion and sediment control practices. This training promotes the proper use of rolled erosion control products (RECPs), hydraulic erosion control products (HECPs), sediment control products (SRFRs), and other products in protecting the environment and products to improve water quality during and after construction activities. The construction Safety Rodeo sponsored by JB Coxwellis a simultaneous event which is indoor and outdoor and designed to ensure proper safety practices, provide participants with construction project safety information and equipment designed to educate them on correct safety tools, heavy equipment usage and operation, correct PPEs, and safety rigging. Demonstrations on air and respiratory safety equipment and techniques as well as trench safety will be provided. This safety rodeo is designed to educate contractors, inspectors, and citizens interested in learning more about safety issues in construction, present proper safety protocols and proper use of other safety products in protecting the workers and company.
