Description

Join us for a spring evening concert in the National Arboretum's Ellipse Meadow on Saturday, May 13th (rain date May 14). Enjoy a picnic while you listen to music from Cumbia Heights, a neo-cumbian band based in Washington, DC with alt tropical vibes. See a sample of their music here. Registration is required to enter the National Arboretum for this event. The grounds will not be open to the public during this event, only the Ellipse Meadow and National Herb Garden will be open to attendees. Use the R Street Entrance for easy access: 2400 R Street NE, Washington, DC 20002 TICKETS — PAY WHAT YOU CANTickets are required for this event, but please pay what you can to attend this event. Our suggested ticket price is $25 (or $20 if you are a FONA member). Children 12 and under are free, but tickets are required. The ticket revenue helps cover what we pay the band, Arboretum security and facilities, and the cost of our staff to organize these events. However, if paying $25 would prohibit you from attending this event, please pay what you can. We want to provide a quality event that facilitates a connection to the National Arboretum, but also believe everyone should have access to this event regardless of means. If you are able to pay more than the suggested ticket price, the difference will go towards covering the cost of those in our community who can’t. FOOD & DRINKAttendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, but food and drinks will also be for sale at the event. Paste and Rind will have cheese cones and picnics for sale during the event. Picnics are available for pre-order and pick up at the event, and a limited number of picnics will be available for purchase at the event. Please note that while the checkout page says that the pick up location is at the Paste and Rind store front, it will actually be on site at the Arboretum prior to the concert. Republic Restoratives will have alcoholic beverages for sale during the event for attendees 21 years of age and older.
